WHRAAMS Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 10, 2026

1. Information We Collect

We collect:

  • Email addresses — when you submit your word, join our waitlist, or subscribe through our language record or any form on this site.

  • Language submissions — words and phrases you voluntarily contribute to the WHRAAMS language record. By submitting, you grant WHRAAMS permission to display your submission publicly on our site. Submissions are displayed without attribution — no name, no identifying information.

  • Usage data — page views, clicks, scroll depth, and traffic sources, collected through Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Squarespace Analytics.

  • Cookies and pixels — used for analytics and advertising performance measurement, including Meta Pixel and Google Analytics. These tools help us understand how people find and interact with our site and measure the effectiveness of our advertising.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Send you updates about WHRAAMS — including language developments, product news, and launch information — via email.

  • Display language submissions in the WHRAAMS public record at whraams.com/language.

  • Analyze site performance and improve the experience for people who arrive here.

  • Develop products, content, and campaigns informed by how people engage with our brand.

  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your data to make automated decisions about you, and we do not build individual profiles for sale or transfer to third parties.

3. Data Sharing

We share limited data with the following service providers who help us operate this site:

  • MailerLite — for managing email communications.

  • Google Analytics — for website performance insights.

  • Meta — for advertising performance measurement via Meta Pixel.

  • Squarespace — for website hosting and analytics.

Each of these providers operates under their own privacy policies and data protection obligations. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for their own marketing purposes.

4. Cookies and Tracking

This site uses cookies and similar tracking technologies including:

  • Meta Pixel — tracks visits and actions on our site to measure ad performance and, where applicable, to show relevant ads on Meta platforms.

  • Google Analytics 4 — tracks usage patterns to help us understand how people interact with our site.

  • Squarespace Analytics — tracks basic site performance metrics.

You can control cookies through your browser settings at any time. Opting out of cookies may affect your experience on this site. If you are located in California (CCPA) or the European Union (GDPR), you have additional rights regarding how your data is collected and used — see Section 5 below.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You can:

  • Unsubscribe from any WHRAAMS email at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every email.

  • Request that a language submission be removed from the public record by contacting us at hello@whraams.com.

  • Opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

  • Clear cookies from your browser or use your browser's privacy settings to limit tracking.

  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you by contacting us directly.

California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of any sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

European residents (GDPR): You have the right to access, correct, delete, and restrict processing of your personal data. You also have the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our lawful basis for processing your data is legitimate interest and, where applicable, consent.

To exercise any of these rights contact us at hello@whraams.com. We will respond within 30 days.

6. Data Retention

We retain email addresses for as long as you remain subscribed or until you request deletion. Language submissions displayed in the public record are retained indefinitely unless you request removal. Usage data collected through analytics tools is retained according to the default retention settings of each platform — typically 14 months for Google Analytics.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. You share information with us at your own risk. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our data practices evolve or as required by law. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of our site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
